How To Make A Tree Branch Towel Holder

A towel holder made from a tree branch is really a great way to give your home a nice rustic look. The first thing that you will have to do is find a nice strong sturdy branch for this project. If you do not have any trees in your backyard, you can always drive around the town during the spring months.

During the spring months you will find that many people have trees that have died during the winter months cut down. They will usually tie up the branches and place them on the curb for pickup. Or perhaps you can find some sturdy branches in your own yard. Remember that all you need is just one.

You will want a tree branch that is at least two to four inches thick. This should be strong enough to hold up your towels. Measure how long you will need the branch to be in order to place it on the bathroom wall. Most towel holders that you purchase from the hardware store comes with brackets that can be mounted to the wall.

You can use these to secure the piece of wood to the wall. Make sure that the brackets for the towel holder are nicely secured to the wall. Smooth out the ends of the branches until they are nice and flat. For this all you will need is a wood cutting knife and some sand paper to smooth it out. Once the ends are nice and smooth, you can place a small amount of glue onto the branches and place them onto the brackets.

You will need to hold the branch there for several minutes until the glue sets. Once the glue is set you can secure the stick more by adding some additional glue to the outside of the branch. If you use clear glue you will not have to worry about the look.

To decorate the ends of the branches where the brackets are you can put some nice artificial floral decorations. Arrange this nicely in a way that will cover over any exposed glue, and the end of the branch. At this point your imagination will come into the picture.

You can be as creative as you like to continue the rustic bathroom look. Hang up a few of your towels on the branch towel holder, but be sure to space them out well so that you are able to see some of the branch in between the towel. I would also recommend picking some nice brown’s or green’s for your d├ęcor which will help with the rustic look.

Browns usually work very nice for a rustic bathroom. These are some simple ideas that anyone can do when trying to come up with some fun at home projects. The best part about this project is that you can replace the branches whenever needed very easily and with little to no expense.
